Insightful Play and Counseling

My typical rate for a session whether play therapy, teen, or adult is $150. A sliding scale rate is potentially available so please inquire for more information. For private pay clients, please see disclaimer regarding Good Faith Estimate under No Surprises Act (H.R. 133 – effective January 1, 2022).

Insurance: I am also in network with a few insurance companies and the rate will then be determined based on co-pay, if a deducible needs to be met, etc. If I am not in network with your insurance company and you wish to utilize your insurance, I am able to provide necessary documentation to file for out of network benefits.

A note about counseling and insurance: You may have noticed that it can be difficult to find a counselor who accepts insurance and there are many reasons for that decision that is rooted in the best interest of the client. My intent in accepting some insurances is to increase the access to counseling for more people, however, if you have any questions or concerns regarding rates or insurance, please feel free to ask.

Additional fees apply for services done outside of session such as observation, meetings, phone calls, letting writing, form completion, etc. Any court involvement has a separate fee schedule that is addressed in the informed consent.

Required Good Faith Estimate Disclaimer:

The Good Faith Estimate shows the predicted costs of services reasonably expected for your counseling needs from our office. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate is offered.

The Good Faith Estimate does not include unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during your treatment. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur. If this happens, federal law allows you to dispute (appeal) the bill.

If you are billed for more than this Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill.

You may contact your counselor or facility to let them know the billed charges are higher than the Good Faith Estimate. You can ask them to update the bill to match the Good Faith Estimate, ask to negotiate the bill, or ask if there is financial assistance available.

You may also start a dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). If you choose to use the dispute resolution process, you must start the dispute process within 120 calendar days (about 4 months) of the date on the original bill.

There is a $25 fee to use the dispute process. If the agency reviewing your dispute agrees with you, you will have to pay the price on this Good Faith Estimate. If the agency disagrees with you and agrees with the health care provider or facility, you will have to pay the higher amount.
